Marc Marquez Will Move to Andorra?



MotoGP World Champion Marc Marquez will likely be moved away from Spain and Andorra. The fact that Andorra offers low tax policies to be one of the considerations of the sports star to choose to live there.

The brothers are also the MotoGP rider, Aleix and Pol Espargaro, has lived in Andorra. While Dani Pedrosa and Jorge Lorenzo chose to stay in Switzerland which is also a tax haven, which country or region that offer low tax or tax free. Some have questioned why Marquez still survive in Spain. Moreover, Andorra is only about 120 kilometers from the city of his birth, Cervera.


According to some media in Spain, Marquez-which reportedly get a contract of 10 million euros (USD 152 billion) per year from Honda- will be taxed 49% in Spain. Compare with pieces of 30,000 euros (plus 50,000 euros for the entry fee) if he lived in Andorra. After a few years there, the tax will increase to 10% of its revenues.

Marquez least should be in Andorra for 183 days in a year to get permission to stay there.

Monaco is another country which is the favorite of high-income athletes to stay. Monaco, who is also a tax haven imposed a tax free income and lower taxes for businesses. Formula 1 World Champion Lewis Hamilton chose to stay there. Some tennis star also choose domiciled in Monaco, including Novak Djokovic and Caroline Wozniacki.
